The January meeting of the Purple Grove Women's Institute was held at the home of Fran Farrell.
The ladies began with a pot luck lunch, enjoying lots of good food.
President Janet Rhody opened the meeting with a reading. Diane Clifford read the Scripture. The Roll Call was answered with an item for the program. There were fun poems, readings, stories and words of encouragement.
In the business portion, the group discussed the nominees for the Ontario Service Award. Also discussed were the particulars for the FWIO and ACWW conventions in June of this year. Cards were signed for Wilma Sutton’s 80th birthday, and a sympathy card for Irene Collins.
Trusty auctioneer Joyce Farrell then auctioned off the many items that the members had brought. As this is a ‘fun meeting,’ everyone had a good time, and went home with some great items that she just couldn’t live without.
The next meeting will be Feb. 1 at the home of Diane Clifford. All the members are looking forward to watching her quilting machine do its magic. Visitors are most welcome.
