MANOR MUSINGS

Geri’s Fashions will again be hosting a fashion day at Tiverton Park Manor, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come and check the fall fashions and visit with friends and relatives.

Fall Fair News – Save the Date

Hey everyone, get your entries ready to show and compete in the 156th annual Tiverton Fall Fair, "Celebrating County and Community," Oct. 6-8, Thanksgiving weekend. Let's put our entries over the top this year to show our enthusiasm! The fair has many great attractions. See the handbook for details.

Friday night is the entertaining Ambassador Competition at the Whitney Crawford Community Centre at 8 p.m., including the Prince and Princess Pageant, and fantastic Pie and Cake Auction. A Pre-Teen Dance, for ages eight to 13, with DJ Ryan Berry will be held at the Lions Hall.

Saturday is overflowing with events, beginning with Breakfast at the Whitney Crawford Community Centre, Miniature Horses Competition at 9 a.m., Children's Pet Show at 10 a.m., Saddle Horse Show at 10 a.m., Purebred Cattle Exhibit (page 11), and Open Poultry Show at 10 a.m. - send entries by Sept. 27 to Dianne Todd, secretary (page 14).  You will want to see our Gigantic Parade starting at Noon - see the categories to enter on the back cover of the Tiverton Agricultural Society Fair Book! Follow the parade to the fairgrounds for the Kid Zone Activity Tent, pony rides, Paintball Extravaganza, Hard Rock Climbing Wall, Petting Zoo, Thede Alpaca Farm Exhibit, Awesome Inflatables, and Home Run Derby at the back ball diamond!

The Garden Tractor Pull starts at 1 p.m. on the track Saturday. There are Food Vendors of all types, Farmers Market, Displays, Milk a Cow, Sow and piglet display, Reptilian Exhibit, Egg Producers, Archery Challenge, and find a Needle in the Haystack. All this is followed by the age of majority dance with live band, Snake Bite, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. - $10 admission.

Sunday promises to be exciting with the Truck Pull registration beginning at 10 a.m., and the competition at 12:30 p.m. A Community Worship Service will be held at 10 a.m. at the Whitney Crawford Community Centre. The Farmer Chili Cook-Off is located at the Tiverton Lions Hall at 12:30 p.m. - sample chili and vote on the winner of this year's title! Entrants, register by calling 519-368-2427 and make a crock pot of chili using local ingredients. Many thanks to local businesses, organizations, individuals, and families for their tireless support and generous donations that make our Tiverton Fall Fair incredibly successful!  We are proud to be "Celebrating Country and Community!
