Peter Little makes big contribution to Huron Shores Hospice

After 54 years in business, Little's Furniture in Port Elgin closed its doors at the end of June this year.

Following the close-out sale, owner Peter Little (above) made a generous donation of furniture to Huron Shores Hospice for its one-bed hospice suite in Tiverton Park Manor. Included in the $6,650 donation were a queen-sized mattress set and bed frame, a beautiful Canadian-crafted night table, two wool rugs and two high-end table lamps.

"The generous donation helps the local hospice effort by reducing the cost of equipping the patient room and the adjoining family room," said Cheryl Cottrill, chairperson of the Huron Shores Hospice board of directors.

“This donation brings us so much closer to our goal to open by the end of this year. Peter Little has always been an active community leader, and this contribution is a great example of what a caring community is all about.”

The next fund-raiser is Handbags for Hospice, slated for Thursday, Sept. 28, from 6-9 p.m., at the Kincardine Pavilion, featuring The Auctionista.
