(HURON TWP, ON) - Sept. 25, at 6:40 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a theft at a residence in the 600 block of Bruce County Road 7 in Huron Township.

A green GMC Sierra pick-up truck, with Licence No. AM22608, was taken; in fact, the owner saw the truck being driven away. The paint is peeling on the passenger side and there is a dark green tonneau cover over the bed of the truck. At the time of the theft, there were tools in the bed of the truck including: a turquoise Makita air compressor, an orange Bostitch nailer, a yellow and black Stanley nailer, and a shingle ripper. The value of the stolen truck and tools is estimated to be more than $7,200.
The South Bruce OPP reminds vehicle owners/operators about the Lock-it or Lose-it theft-prevention tips to help protect their property:
  • Always roll up your vehicle's windows, lock the door and pocket the key
  • If you have a garage, use it; lock the door and the vehicle
  • Always park in a well-lit area
  • Never leave valuable objects in plain view
Theft is a crime of opportunity that you can help control - Lock-it or Lose-it
