Wolves lead semi-final series, 2-0, against Minto

The Ripley Wolves have the Minto 81s on the run, after winning the first two games in their semi-final series, on the weekend.
The Wolves hosted Minto, Saturday night, for Game 1, and in front of a packed Ripley Arena, they slammed the 81s, 6-0.
Pat Looby led the Wolves, with a hat-trick, assisted on the goals by Gerrit Satosek and Ben Hughes; J.D. Falconer and Kevin Boyd; and then Falconer and Jason Hamilton.
Scoring the other three goals, were Tyson Soers from Cody Britton and Hughes; Jordan Turcotte from Garrett Meurs and Adam Alexander; and Falconer from Hughes and Keaton Willis.
Sunday night's game in Palmerston was a closer match, but the Wolves managed to edge out the home team, 4-3.
Minto opened the scoring midway in the first, before Dan Nicoloff tied it for the Wolves, from Meurs and Alexander.
The 81s took the lead again, but with less than a minute left in the period, Meurs scored from Nicoloff to make it a 2-2 game heading into the second.
After a scoreless second frame, Looby put the Wolves ahead midway in the third, scoring from Boyd. And minutes later, Falconer added another to make it a 4-2 game, assisted by Looby and Boyd.
In the dying minutes, Minto managed a third goal, but could not tie it up, and the Wolves won, 4-3.
Ripley hosts Minto for Game 3, at the Ripley Arena, Saturday, March 7, at 7 p.m. And Game 4 is in Palmerston, Tuesday, March 10, at 8:30 p.m.
- Game 5 is at the Ripley Arena, Friday, March 13, at 8:30 p.m.
- If necessary, Game 6 is Sunday, March 15, at 7 p.m., in Palmerston.
- If necessary, Game 7 is Tuesday, March 17 at 8:30 p.m., in Ripley.
