Kincardine Kinucks urge hockey families to support local businesses

June 30, 2020

The Kincardine Minor Hockey Association recognizes that the community is working though some very strange times.

To this end, the organization wants to support local businesses which have been affected by the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, having to close their doors for extended periods of time, and now, starting to re-open under numerous restrictions.

“These businesses are owned by our families, our friends, our neighbours and our teammates,” states a release, issued by the association. “It's at times like these that we all must pull together as a Kinuck family and support each other as we start on the road to recovery.”

In an effort to give back to the community, Kincardine Minor Hockey will utilize its on-line social media presence and its website, to recognize its sponsors and those businesses in the community that play such an important role in minor hockey.

“Over the next couple of months, we will be profiling those who have helped support minor hockey over the years, as well as offering local businesses the opportunity to promote their services to all of the members of 'Kinuck Nation,' in an effort to showcase the incredible goods and services that we have to offer here in Kincardine.”

To kick off the theme of “Kinucks supporting Kincardine,” minor hockey has teamed up with as many local restaurants as it could, offering some great food and a chance to “see and be seen.”

During the week of July 13-17 (Monday to Friday), order some take-out or visit one of the many patios at any one of the local eateries, take a Kinuck selfie and post it on the KMHA Facebook event page with a #KINUCKSNATIONSUPPORTS label. Tag your friends, your family, your best friend, your dog or whoever else you choose, and challenge them to do the same. Tell us what you love about the place and why you are proud to be a Kincardine Kinuck.

“We want to do our part and help get Kincardine get back on its feet. Or in the case of Kincardine Minor Hockey, our skates.”
