Nelson Boals of Kincardine, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024, in his 78th year. Survived by his beloved wife, Karen; and his loving sons, Craig (Joye) of Kingston and Phillip (Phyllis) of Stoney Creek. Also survived by his brothers, Russell and John (Cheryl); his sister, Carol; his sisters-in-law, Micheline and Alane (Michael), and brothers-in-law, Ray (Julia) and Martin (Rose). He will be remembered by his grandchildren, Emelyne, Evangeline, Braydon, Caralie, James, Bronwen, Ruby and Finnley. He was proud of each of them. Predeceased by his dear son, Glendon; his brother, George; his parents, Baisel and Joyce; his mother-in-law, Helen; and brother-in-law, Kevin. Nelson was a long-time, active member of the Royal Canadian Legion and PC party. He was a staunch volunteer with the Kincardine Legion, serving on the executive and on committees, and stepping up to chair the weekly Bingo with an enthusiasm that saw the event grow and prosper. In 2018, he received a Certificate of Merit for his hard work and dedication, and the following year, was named Legionnaire of the Year. Visitation will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024, from 12-1:30 p.m., followed by the funeral at 2 p.m, with Padre Eric Williams officiating. Interment, Friday, Nov. 1, at 2 p.m., at St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery, in Nelson's hometown of Cornwall. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 183, Kincardine, are very much appreciated.
