Jimmy Rodger Sprung of Kincardine, died at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine, Monday, March 3, 2025, at the age of 80. Beloved husband of Valerie Sprung (née Bishop). Proud father of Shannon Hawrylyshyn (John), Shawna Sprung, Sheri Sprung and James Sprung (Anita). Missed by his grandchildren, Ashley Hawrylyshyn (Andrew), Kayla Emond (Ryan), Heather Taylor (Ryan), Kaitlyn MacDonald (Josh), Tyler Sprung, Dylan Palmateer (Dani), Christen Hawrylyshyn, Brianne Palmateer (Paul), Savannah O’Donnell (Joe), Gavin Kai (Cassie), Colin Reardon, Bailey Sprung and Kylie Sprung; and six great-grandchildren, Nolan, Nathan, Scarlett, Austin, Leah and Olivia. Fondly remembered by his sisters, Marilyn Hutchinson and Janice Sprung; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Orville and Edna (née Dench) Sprung; brother, Doug Sprung (Muriel/Babe); brother-in-law, Keith Hutchinson; and sister, Sherrill Sprung. Jim was born and raised in Shallow Lake, Ontario. He loved the game of golf and was an avid golfer most of his life. He also loved hockey, which he coached for a while, and was the timekeeper for the Kincardine Bulldogs for many years. In his earlier years, he was a member of the Kinsmen Club of Kincardine and enjoyed many years with that group, donating his time for various projects and fund-raising events. A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 1-5 p.m. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
