Audrey Jean Hewitt (Ritchie) of Lucknow died peacefully, with family by her side, at Wingham and District Hospital, Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026, in her 69th year. Beloved wife of Ken Hewitt and caring parent of Mathew Hewitt. Survived by her sisters, Elizabeth (Murray) Irvin, Nancy (Doug) Aitchison and Joanne (Gord) Brown. Greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, cousins and the Hewitt family. Predeceased by her parents, Bernadean and Leonard Ritchie; Ken’s parents, Wilbert and Eunice Hewitt; nephews, Vaughn McEachen and Travis Duck; and brother-in-law, Jim Pentland. Growing up, many camping trips were enjoyed as the family toured Canada. Audrey also enjoyed a number of trips to various places with the Junior Farmers over the years and made great friendships along the way. Aunt Audrey always made sure the kids were entertained. From her famous Yardman and trailer rides to countless hours building Lego and always never-ending treats. She thoroughly enjoyed her many years of babysitting children. Fond memories of these times were often shared. Audrey also enjoyed spending time assisting Ken with his lawn care customers for several years, as well as, tending to their various beautiful garden beds at home. Visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 26, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Lucknow United Church, followed by the funeral at 1 p.m., with Rev. Linda Roberts officiating. Spring Interment, Greenhill Cemetery.
