MARION NORMA MacLEOD (nee MacGREGOR)
March 12, 2026
Marion Norma MacLeod (nee MacGregor) of Kincardine died peacefully, Thursday, March 12, 2026, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine, in her 99th year. Much loved mother of Allan (Ellen) Holroyd of Manitoulin Island; and cherished grandmother of Brent (Karlee) of Ayr and Jim (Mendi) of Kincardine. Predeceased by her granddaughter, Bobbie Jo (1993). Doting great-grandmother of her six great-grandchildren, Maryn, Macy, Edyn Marion, Ashlyn, Reid and Mason. Remembered by her sister, Shirley Colquhoun; sisters-in-law, June McGregor and Norma Holroyd; and many cherished nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her first husband, Jim Holroyd (1961); her second husband, Donald MacLeod (2015); siblings Mort McGregor, Donna (Jack) Howard, Benny (Ray) Murray, and Sam (Joan) MacGregor; brothers-in-law, Bob Colquhoun, George Holroyd, and John (Marg) MacLeod; sister-in-law, Marg (Jack) Ray; and parents, Norman and Annie (nee MacLeod) MacGregor. Marion loved her visits with family and friends, especially if they dropped in for a glass of wine at happy hour or a night cap of Carolans Irish Cream. She had an infectious laugh, a witty sense of humour and too many one-liners to count. To know her was to love her. Marion led a life full of positivity and “spunk” until her last day. The family thanks the staff at Trillium Court Seniors' Community in Kincardine - the housekeepers, kitchen staff, the PSWs and nurses were like family to Marion. The staff of the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine offered comfortable, compassionate care to Marion in her final days. A special thank you to family friend, Gary Gurbin, who cared for Marion as “Dr. Gurbin” for more than 60 years. Friends and relatives are invited to a Celebration of Life, Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 2-5 p.m. at the Inverlyn Lakes Estates Clubhouse. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the South Bruce Grey Health Centre - Kincardine Hospital Auxiliary or Ronald McDonald House Charities would be appreciated by the family.
