DOROTHY MARSHALL ANTONETTE

March 13, 2026

Dorothy Marshall Antonette of Kincardine, died Friday, March 13, 2026, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine, in her 95th year. Predeceased by her husband, Lorne S. Antonette (2022); son, Robert Antonette (1991); father, Harold; mother, Doris; and sisters, Freda and Kathy. Born in 1931 in Nelson, Lancashire, England, Dorothy immigrated to Toronto, Canada, with her parents and two sisters in 1946. She worked for the Compensation Board prior to marrying Lorne in Toronto in February, 1953. Lorne’s employment took the couple from Toronto to Chalk River in 1963 when he accepted a position as a mechanical maintainer with Ontario Hydro. Following a stint in Chalk River, they moved to Port Elgin for several years before settling in Tiverton. For many years, Lorne and Dorothy were very involved with harness racing, a passion they enjoyed. In 1987, Lorne and Dorothy relocated to Kincardine. They thoroughly enjoyed 12 years of wintering in Arizona, where they established many cherished memories and friendships. Dorothy was an avid reader who loved to sew and knit. Her intelligence, sharp wit, and intellectual curiosity will be sorely missed by all who were blessed to call her ‘friend.’ A private interment will be held in the spring at Kincardine Cemetery.
