SHARON MARLENE JACKSON (nee PUCKERING)

March 24, 2026

Sharon Marlene Jackson (nee Puckering), formerly of Inverhuron, died peacefully, Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Toronto General Hospital. Beloved mother of Don Jackson of Toronto, and loving sister of Robert Puckering of Durham. Sharon leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Johanna Sharrow of Port Dover and Hunter Wild (Brittany Wild) of Calgary, Alberta. Predeceased by her mother, Almyra Peasy (nee Brown); and her father, George Puckering. Sharon worked most of her life as a manager at Bruce Power where she made many friendships that lasted into her retirement. Shortly after retiring, she became a reluctant community advocate when she led a movement to stop the Municipality of Kincardine from installing a water/sewer line through the Hamlet of Inverhuron and passing the costs on to the residents. She was proud to succeed in stopping the project, saving herself and her neighbours thousands of dollars that many of them simply could not afford. Sharon enjoyed afternoon lunches with her friends, road trips and a cocktail on a summer patio. She donated time to the Knox Presbyterian Church kids summer camp along with her friends, Patti Hutton, Lorna Hutton and Susan Shedden. She was very funny, with a sharp wit and kindly good humour. She regularly donated to several charities, including children’s charities, and expressed her love of animals by donating to various Humane Societies and by spoiling her cat, Laddie, who was her constant, loyal companion. The funeral will be held Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 1 p.m., at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., prior to the service. Reception to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Ontario Humane Society, in place of flowers, would be greatly appreciated by the family. Donations and condolences may be made on-line at www.daveylinklaterfuneralhome.com.
