DONALD JAMES TITHERINGTON
June 11, 2026
Donald James Titherington of Kincardine died June 11, 2026, at the age of 83, surrounded by family and friends. Born in Toronto, he was the son of Elizabeth Kathleen and James Harry Titherington. Don built a long and respected career as a project engineer with Ontario Power Generation (OPG). He was an avid bridge player and a long-time member of the Kincardine Charity Bridge Club, where he formed many valued friendships, including with Helen, Tom, and others in the community. Don was also a passionate collector of vintage advertising. Over 47 years, he developed an extraordinary collection spanning Victorian, Art Nouveau, and Art Deco eras, filling his home with porcelain and tin signs and framed advertisements — earning him the affectionate nickname, “the man who ran out of space.” He will be deeply missed by his brother, Al (Janice); nephew, Brian (Tammy), and their children, Kayla and Seth; niece, Laura and her son, Jack; and many dear friends. Don will be remembered for his quick, dry wit, which brought laughter and warmth to all who knew him. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Don’s memory may be made to the Kincardine Charity Bridge Club or the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine Hospital Auxiliary. Donations and condolences may be made on-line at www.daveylinklaterfuneralhome.com. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered.
