Ron “Ticker” Boulton, of Kincardine died at University Hospital in London, Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, in his 73rd year. Cherished husband of Fran Boulton (née Girard). Loving father of Kyle (Meaghan) Boulton of Kincardine, Jamie (Tyler) Tout of Kincardine and Adam (Cayley) Boulton of Walkerton. Loving grandfather of Abby, Avery, Lucas, Carson, Finn, and Brooklyn. Missed by his sister, Donna Ten Eycke; and sister-in-law, Janet Evans. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his brother, Doug Boulton; and brother-in-law, David Ten Eycke. Ron held a variety of positions within the community and was a long-time member of the Bulldogs hockey club executive. He was secretary of the Bulldogs, president of the Kincardine Minor Hockey Association, and was recreation director and facilities manager at the Davidson Centre. He served on the Kincardine building and planning committee for a number of years, and was a sales representative at Pierson Motors in downtown Kincardine. In February, 2016, he was honoured during “Ticker Appreciation Day.” Just prior to the Kincardine Bulldogs game against Mount Forest, he was welcomed to centre ice by piper Keith Davidson, drummer Floyd Johnson, flag-bearers Craig Whitfield and Ron's granddaughter, Abby, as well as flower-bearer Marianne White. Officials with the Bulldogs and minor hockey each presented him with a jersey in recognition of his hard work and dedication. He also received a Bulldogs flag signed by all of that season's players. Ticker then dropped the puck for the ceremonial face-off. Ron had a deep love for recreation and for his community, and he will be missed. Visitation will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018, from 1-5 p.m. The funeral will be held Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, at 11 a.m., at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home Chapel, Kincardine.
