Kincardine’s “21 and 9” band wins Battle of the Bands
Kincardine’s “21 and 9” band was victorious at the second annual Battle of the Bands, before a packed crowd at Bar Down in downtown Kincardine, Saturday night.
The local talent won over Exeter’s Graham Bedard and McTaggert Line (second place) and Port Elgin’s Johnny Ballard Band (third place).
Bassist Johnny Culbert was grateful for the fans who supported the band.
“Our sincere appreciation goes out to our fans who voted, and to the Town of Kincardine for supporting us for the past five years,” he said. “Writing and playing original tunes isn’t an easy road with the landscape of the music industry in 2022, so we feel very fortunate that folks have embraced the album and our original songs.”
The band plans to begin recording its second album next weekend with a single expected to be released later this year or early in 2023.
