​Mabel McMann, formerly of Underwood, dies at the age of 86

Mabel Alvena McMann of Port Elgin, formerly of Underwood, died peacefully in her sleep, at Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton hospital, Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023. She was 86.

Beloved wife of the late John 'Jack' McMann.

Cherished mother of Brian and his wife, Cheryl of Hanover; Larry and his wife, Karen of Underwood; and Melanie Caperchione and her husband, Tony of Southampton. 

Much loved grandmother of Aaron, Rachel, Jason (Kayla), David (Kamila), Amy and Paige; and proud GG of Aoife, Nolan, Gavin, Zorah, Riley and Emma. 

Dear sister of Elsie Piatkowski of Kitchener.

Predeceased by her parents, Susan (nee Baker) and Archie Sparks; sister, Ella Sparks; and brother-in-law, Harry Piatkowski.

The funeral will be conducted at the Port Elgin United Church, 840 Bruce Street, Port Elgin, Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2023, at 3 p.m, with visitation from 1-3 p.m.

Spring interment, Lovat Cemetery, Paisley.

Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of Grey Bruce or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated; arrangements entrusted to the Downs and Son Funeral Home, Hepworth.
