Canada Day festivities in Town of Kincardine, Village of Tiverton this year
The Municipality of Kincardine is hosting Canada Day festivities in the Town of Kincardine (Ward 1) and Village of Tiverton (Ward 3) this year.
The day begins at 8 a.m., with the Tiverton Lions Brunch at the Whitney Crawford Community Centre, with proceeds going toward the Tiverton Splash Pad project.
The Tiverton Agricultural Society is holding the Canada Day Parade at 10:30 a.m. For those interested in being in the parade and route details coming soon, visit

Following the parade, the Drifters Car Club has a show in the Tiverton Arena parking lot, from Noon to 2 p.m.
Events move to Kincardine for the afternoon and evening, beginning at 1 p.m., with opening ceremonies, featuring the Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band at the flag pole at the west end of Harbour Street.
A ceremony, unveiling the “Kincardine Lighthouse and Phantom Piper” plaque, takes place at the foot of the Lighthouse, including a rare afternoon performance by the Phantom Piper at 2 p.m.
Macpherson and Dunsmoor Parks play host to family entertainment from 1:30-4:30 p.m., including:
- A barbecue by the Kincardine Lions Club
- A performance by local band Boiler Beach
- The Wild Ontario Bird Show
- Balloon-twisters and face-painters
- Bouncy castles and more
The fireworks display will be set off from the North Pier at dusk, with July 2 set as the rain date, should the weather not co-operate.
“Canada Day in both Tiverton and Kincardine wouldn’t be possible without our wonderful service groups and volunteers helping us,” said tourism co-ordinator Kathryn Bruce. “This is really a celebration of both national and community spirit. We can’t wait to see everyone out in their red-and-white July 1!”
