No Drama Fitness raises $800 in workout session for Special Olympics
About 20 people took on the challenge of working out for 24 hours at No Drama Fitness in Kincardine, in support of Special Olympics Canada.
And their efforts paid off, raising $800 for the cause.
The 24 CrossFit workouts in 24 hours challenge helps support the Special Olympics Canada Foundation, says Anthony Wilkinson, owner and coach at No Drama Fitness. This unique event pushes the participants to work out for 24 hours straight. Working in teams of three, athletes complete 24 separate workouts, one every hour on the hour.
Joining the athletes at the gym, were Joy Laidler and her daughter, Rosie, of Kincardine. Rosie is a Special Olympics skater who is headed to the nationals in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, next March.
Across Canada, the workout event was expected to raise more than $100,000. Since its inception in 2011, CF|24 has donated more than $300,000 to the foundation.
