Purple Grove news
There are always good things to do in our community no matter if it's raining or sunny!

It sure was nice to see some more soybeans being harvested, and the start of the corn harvest this past week and on the weekend! So, lots of farm equipment on the roads; take care, everyone, and share the road.

Happy Birthday to Al Edwards, Larry Needham, Gail Lotton and Nicole Griffin, and Happy Wedding Anniversary to Sandy and Sasha Bridge this past week!

Thank you to the Ripley Business Community for hosting the Welcome Newcomer evening, with several of our local service organizations attending, including St. Andrew's United Church, Ripley Agricultural Society, Ripley Horticultural Society, Ripley Lions Club, and a few more! Bren de Leeuw, Cheryl Bridge and Bonnie Boyle thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the event, sharing information about the Women's Institute and our Purple Grove branch! They met people who have relocated to the area from all over the Province, and particularly enjoyed a visit from a lovely lady who had been a
Women's Institute member in the United Kingdom (U.K.) almost 60 years ago!

Earlier this week, Bren de Leeuw was thrilled to be invited to speak at the RWTO (Retired Women Teachers of Ontario), South Bruce branch. She shared her family’s story of "Finding Peace in Rural Ontario," detailing the journey of a lovely Ukrainian family now living in Kincardine.

We hope that friends in hospital and home from surgery, recover quickly and are out and about again soon!

The sympathy of the community is extended to the families of Andy Groenveld and Neil McCallum who passed away last week. Many memories of these special men will be shared in the next few days and weeks.

Roxanne and Wray Thompson entertained Mary Anne Kukoly last week.

Jim and Fran Farrell visited with Lillian Logtenberg in Goderich and Ken and Agnes Logtenberg of Port Albert, Sunday.

Doug MacDonald enjoyed a trip up through the Agawa Canyon with Meagan Labatte, recently, and they also stopped to see Bob and Sheena Houghton on the way home.

Have a great week, everyone, and stay safe!
