Kincardine Community Singers getting in the mood for Christmas with weekend concert

The Kincardine Community Singers are getting ready to perform this year’s concert, “In the Mood for Christmas,” set to run this weekend, Dec. 8-10, at Knox Presbyterian Church, Kincardine.

If Wednesday night’s dress rehearsal is any indication, you will be rocking to some fabulous tunes including “Underneath the Tree” and “Rockin’ in Bethlehem;” spellbound by such treasures as “Sanctus;” and completely blown away by the magnificent medley, “White Christmas.”

And, of course, there are a few solos, duets and a couple of comic entries, including “Please Don’t Sing Another Fa La La,” and “Can Santa Make it Through Tonight?”

The 90-member choir is under the direction of Patt Lowry, with accompanist Liz Coates and special guests Jerry McNulty and Mike Walsh.

Also accompanying the choir is the band, featuring Steve Deer, Karen Weber, Mike Smith, Chris Lazarenko, Brian Tovey and Diane Wall, as well as a string quartet.

Tickets are $20 each for adults, and $5 each for children (ages 12 and under); available at Penetangear in downtown Kincardine or from any choir member.
