Kincardine Legion Corner
The
New Year’s Eve tickets are SOLD OUT. Sorry if you missed out on this opportunity, maybe next year.
Wednesday’s
Catch the Ace draw saw Steve Musselman win AGAIN, taking home $998! He chose Envelope No. 47 which contained the Six of Hearts. If he had caught the Ace of Spades, he would have raked in $15,858. I am sure that if everyone bought more tickets, we could make sure Steve doesn’t win next week, as the jackpot should be around $17,000 or more - that’s some serious cash, especially this close to Christmas!
Tiverton raked in a lot of meat at the
Saturday Meat Draw but did not win the 50/50 - that was Marg Culleton with the jackpot being $198. Al and Jane Bowers were our meat draw couple’s winners, both taking home a large quantity of meat. I think their freezer is full for the time being. Our last meat draw for the year will be Dec. 16 in the Club Room, and no meat draw on Dec. 30.
If you missed
Lulu’s last Saturday, you missed an awesome party! The dance floor was full and at one point, we had a chain dance working its way around the floor. We also had the chance to celebrate the 60th birthday of our vice-president, Teri Leslie. It was a great start to our kitchen refresh fund-raiser.
We will be
temporarily closing down the kitchen in January to start work on the upgrade. There are a lot of people really excited to get this project under way so we can resume hosting all the events we have planned once the refresh is complete.
There will be a
New Year’s Levee Jan. 1, 2024, beginning at noon and a luncheon by donation at 1 p.m. The doors will be open at noon so come in and enjoy yet another amazing event at the Legion.
Remember our last
Trivia Night of the year will be Dec. 15. You can sign up at the club room bar - $5 a person, eight people to a team. This might be a great time to bring your kids along and let them show you how much they really know. You can start a new tradition and join us for family trivia night.
Our next
Family Dinner will be Dec. 17, at 5 p.m. Turkey is on the menu with all the fixings. Please join us for another fantastic dinner prepared by our very own Chef Jon Shaw.
The Legion will be taking a
Christmas break and closing its doors for the holidays, from Dec. 24-26. Keep your eyes and ears open for any changes to our hours during this time. We will re-open Dec. 27.
The
Thursday Night Bingo, Dec. 14, will be a $1,000 jackpot along with draws for 10 turkeys and five hams.
There will be
no Bingo, Dec. 28, but it resume in the new year. Please consider volunteering for this event as some of our regular volunteers are getting a little worn-out and could use a break. If we can’t get more people helping, we may have to cancel some Bingo nights in the new year.
There will be
no Fiddlers playing Dec. 19; they will be back in 2024.
