Kincardine presents plaques to championship baseball teams
Members of the Under-13 Kincardine Cardinals and the senior men’s AA Kincardine Cubs were honoured at the Kincardine council meeting Wednesday night (Dec. 13), for winning provincial championships this season.
The Cardinals finished their season with a 28-8-1 record which included winning their final game against a talented ball club from Lucan-Ilderton, to win the Ontario Baseball Association (OBA) 13U “D” division provincial championship.
The team also had many other significant victories during the season, including wins over teams in divisions higher than the one the Cardinals were in.
Despite all the impressive victories, the team should be proudest of its commitment to sportsmanship and the local baseball community. The Cardinals always gave three cheers for the opposition, win or lose. They are a great team that had an incredibly memorable season!
