Purple Grove news
Happy Birthday to Mary Beth Kerr, and belated birthday wishes to Loretta Smith and Jim DeBoer.

Sympathy is extended to the family of Bev Pollard.

A reminder that the Good Food Box will be ready for pick-up on Dec. 22. Thanks in advance to all the willing volunteers who help to make this possible, it is a blessing for us all, especially at Christmas.

The Purple Grove Community Centre hosted its annual Christmas potluck and concert, Friday evening. There was an encouraging turn-out, and of course, lots of good food, interesting conversations and laughter. We welcomed the newcomers to the community as well. Heather Finnie was a great MC for the program. Children from the community entertained us – thanks, youngsters. The program ended with the usual rendition of the “Twelve Days Of Christmas” amidst much laughter and energetic actions. Santa arrived and handed out bags of candy that were put together by Marilyn Reid and enjoyed by all the youngsters. Allan and Lucy Miller of Wingham thanked the community for all the hard work that went into making the community centre a great meeting place. Thanks to Heather Finnie and Carrie Murray and their families for organizing the gathering. It was so good to enjoy each other's company again.

From all of us who call the Purple Grove Community home (no matter where we reside), we wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year with safe travelling, lots of good fellowship and happy times. We hope that our friends who are not feeling well, will recover quickly, and above all, stay safe!
