Wind storm takes out hydro poles, causing power outages Friday morning
Heavy rain and strong wind Friday morning took down hydro poles, trees and caused power outages in the Kincardine area.
Thousands of people were without power in rural Kincardine, as well as Port Elgin, Ripley and Point Clark.
A couple of hydro poles were knocked out along Highway 9, east of the Armow Road, while hydro poles blocked Bruce County Road 20, east of the B-line for most of the day.
There were also reports of trees down in Point Clark, and hydro poles knocked down along Bruce County Road 6, east of Ripley.
Hydro One hoped to have power restored by noon Friday.
