​Wayne McConnell of Kincardine remembered for his love of knowledge and conversation

Wayne Glen McConnell of Kincardine, died suddenly at home, Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2023, at the age of 72.

Beloved son of Glen McConnell and the late Isabel McConnell (nee Cameron) (2008).

Cherished brother of Brenda McConnell (Rick Williams).

Fondly remembered by a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Wayne was a reader and a gatherer of knowledge; for him, reading the encyclopedia was a good thing. He always had several pens and a few notepads handy, to record and make note of thoughts and findings.

A social being, he would talk to anyone. He enjoyed going for a drive, “to see what was going on” and breakfast at Jean’s was almost a daily event.

Along his life’s path, Wayne met and chatted with many, sharing time and stories; he will be remembered by those who knew him.

Family will receive friends at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, 757 Princes Street, Kincardine, Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2023, from 7-9 p.m., where the funeral will be held Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023, at 110 a.m., with Rev. Rob Hiscox officiating.

Reception at the funeral home, following the interment at the Kincardine Cemetery.

Memorial donations to the Kincardine Agricultural Society, would be appreciated by the family.
