Kincardine Legion Corner

The Kincardine Legion rang in the New Year like no other! Adam Cousins and his band kept the hall rocking all night long with great music. You couldn’t have asked for a better time. A big shout-out to all the volunteers who put in a lot of time planning this awesome event; you were all amazing.

The New Year’s Levee kicked off the Legion’s 2024 year, with a great turn-out and some great food. We have so many events planed for 2024; keep your eye on our Facebook page for all the details as they become available.

The first Catch the Ace draw of 2024, Wednesday afternoon, saw Rod MacDonald win $1,733.50. He chose Envelope No. 52 which contained the Nine of Diamonds. If he had caught the Ace of Spades, he would be $23,256.50 richer than he was in 2023! The next jackpot should be $25,000 so get your tickets and join in the fun!

Our regular weekly events are now up and running. Bingo is back every Thursday, starting at 6:45 p.m., as well as Competitive Darts starting at 7 p.m. and Mixed Darts is every Tuesday at 7 p.m.. The Fiddlers return Jan. 9 and Jan. 23 at 7 p.m. Euchre is back Jan. 5 at 7 p.m., and the Saturday Meat Draw starts Jan. 6 in the club room. Jam Sessions run Jan. 5 at 2 p.m. and Jan. 12 at 7 p.m., in the hall.

Trivia Night is Jan. 19, in the hall, starting at 7 p.m.; sign-up begins Jan. 8, so gather up your now-a-year-smarter friends and give the other teams a run for their money!

Robbie Burns Night is Jan. 27. Doors open at 5:15 p.m. Tickets are available at The Playful Piper in downtown Kincardine.

There will be no family dinner this month so the kitchen refresh can get under way. I will keep you posted as to whether there will be one in February.
