Purple Grove news
To all our friends and family near and far, we hope you had a lovely Christmas season and wish you all the best in 2024!

We know everyone appreciated the good roads when travelling and getting to see family and friends for Christmas celebrations. We are so blessed to live in a free country where we can gather.

To those families who had an empty spot at their table, please know that we are thinking of you. For those who have been under the weather, we sure hope you are feeling better soon!

We extend our sympathy to the families of Martha Hack, Wayne McConnell, Muriel Osborne, Bev Thompson and Paddy Hedley, and others who have lost loved ones over the past few weeks. There will be many treasured memories to share in celebrating the lives of these special folks.

Wilma Sutton enjoyed having her sons home - Rob of Newmarket and Rodney of London - and her daughter, Tammy and Brad Murray and sons, all the way from Lucknow.

Cheryl and Carman Bridge hosted a family Christmas last Friday with Wendy and Jim Hooisma of Hanover and Diana and Ron Ellis of Goderich. They've also enjoyed having their grandsons stay with them over the holidays and celebrated Rhett Bridge's third birthday, Jan 4.

Marilyn Reid went with Jo and Brian Reid to visit their son, Bradley, at Alexandria.

Carmen and Jeff Knapp enjoyed having their Farrell nieces of Holstein and Ripley for a sleepover last Friday, and their Herr nieces of Orangeville, Saturday.

The Farrells were together Jan. 1 for a sleigh ride on that skiff of snow, and for supper.

Birthday wishes to Donna Elliott, Annabelle Aitchison and Rachel Paige, and belated wedding anniversary wishes to Susan and Pete Roberts and Jenn and Jeremiah Nahwegabow.

Thanks to the sponsors of free skating at the Ripley-Huron Community Centre! It's sure nice to have something for the kids to do when the weather is wet and gloomy!

Also, thanks to all who persist in keeping their Christmas lights on into January - just to brighten up the nights!

Wednesday, Jan. 10, is our Purple Grove W.I. meeting at the home of Marilyn Reid, with a potluck lunch at Noon, and an auction. Roll Call: What are your grand plans for 2024? Program is to share a favourite recipe. Contact Fran Farrell for more information. Everyone is welcome!
