Theft and trespassing charges laid in Goderich
(GODERICH, ON) - The Huron County OPP has charged a Goderich-area resident with Theft and Trespassing at Night, following an investigation involving two separate incidents.
In the early morning hours of Dec. 8, 2023, a parcel was stolen from a residence on Cambria Road in Goderich.
Jan. 5, 2024, also in the early morning hours, a second incident took place at the same address where an individual searched the same victim's mailbox for valuables.
Huron County OPP officers were able to identify the suspect and locate the individual in the Town of Goderich, Jan. 5.
The suspect was arrested and transported to the Huron OPP detachment for processing.
Lief EDWARDS, 37, of no fixed address in the Goderich area, has been charged with:
- Theft Under $5,000
- Trespassing at Night - (two counts)
The accused was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich, Feb. 26.
