South Bruce OPP report impaired driver; domestic assault; suspension; and recovered truck

CALLER HELPS STOP IMPAIRED DRIVER

(LUCKNOW, ON) - Jan. 4, at 9:48 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a suspected impaired driver in the Village of Lucknow.

Officers located the vehicle along Campbell Street in Lucknow and noted that the driver was exhibiting signs of impairment.

The driver was placed under arrest and taken to an OPP Qualified Drug Recognition Expert for testing.

Ashley BRUNER, 35, of the Township of Huron-Kinloss was charged with:
 

• Impaired Driving
• Possession of a Controlled Substance

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton, Feb. 28, to answer to the charges.

An impaired driving charge includes an immediate 90-day driver's licence suspension and an immediate seven-day vehicle impoundment.

INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE INVESTIGATION LEADS TO CHARGES

(KINCARDINE, ON) -  Jan. 7, the South Bruce OPP responded to an address in the Municipality of Kincardine and initiated an intimate partner violence investigation.

As a result of the investigation, a 40-year-old of Arran-Elderslie Township has been charged with Criminal harassment.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton at a later date. 

The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victims.

NOVICE DRIVER CHARGED AT RIDE CHECK

(KINLOSS TWP, ON) - Jan. 6, at 10:08 p.m., members of the South Bruce OPP were conducting a RIDE check along Bruce County Road 86 in Kinloss Township, when a vehicle was stopped. Officers determined that the driver had been drinking alcohol.

A three-day license suspension was served, following a warn range result at the roadside.

A 21-year-old of the Municipality of Huron East was charged with Young Driver - Blood-Alcohol Above Zero.

STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERED

(KINCARDINE, ON) - Jan. 6, at 9:22 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a stolen vehicle. Last seen at 2 a.m., a gold Ford Escape, with Licence No. DABF 087, was taken from an address along Church Street in the Municipality of Kincardine.

Jan. 6, at 2:54 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of an abandoned vehicle along Sideroad 15 in the Municipality of Kincardine. Officers responded to the scene and located a vehicle with significant damage that was determined to be the stolen Ford Escape.

Anyone with video or dashcam footage of the area between 2-3 a.m. Jan. 6, is asked to contact the South Bruce OPP.
