Police respond to single-vehicle crash and arrest impaired driver

(CARRICK TWP, ON) - Jan. 16, at 4:43 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a single-vehicle crash near the intersection of Bruce County Road 4 and Concession 10 in Carrick Township.

Officers responded to the scene to find the vehicle had left the roadway and come to rest in the ditch.

The driver was exhibiting signs of impairment, was placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Drug Recognition Expert for testing.

Jordan ABURANEH, 34, of the Municipality of North Perth was charged with Impaired Driving, Driving while Impaired by Drug, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton, Feb. 28, to answer to the charges.

An impaired driving charge includes an immediate 90-day driver's licence suspension and an immediate seven-day vehicle impoundment.
