We are thankful no one was hurt during that weird and wild storm that went through the area Friday morning. Thanks to the Hydro One crews for getting the power restored Saturday.
Several women from the area attended the 2015 Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians Canada Region outreach program at the Bruce Power Visitors' Centre, Friday morning. It was interesting to meet and hear from women in our area who inspire us and others by their service and dedication to their communities. Thank you to Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson for hosting this event, and giving us a chance to meet the women who are part of the CWP of Canada.
The Royal Winter Fair started this weekend and many folks from the area are attending and participating in the events this week.
St. Andrew’s United Church, Ripley, hosted the Remembrance Day Service, Sunday, and welcomed the Ripley-Huron Legion.
Shirley Gilders of Clinton visited with her cousin, Roy and Maureen Collins, Sunday afternoon.
Jim and Fran Farrell went to the 35th wedding anniversary celebration for Irene and Joe West, Sunday afternoon in Stratford.

The Purple Grove Community Centre annual meeting is Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Centre.
Folks at RVilla are looking forward to the bazaar being held Friday afternoon, Nov. 27. They are also looking forward to visits with their friends from the community.
