As part of its ongoing commitment to openness and transparency, Bruce Power has launched a new, user-friendly website at brucepower.com.
The website, which is designed for use on computers, tablets and most cell phones, offers users a better portal to learn about the company’s commitment to safely operating the world’s largest nuclear site.
Viewers can find company information, watch company videos and TV commercials, learn more about electricity through interactive energy calculators, stay up-to-date on news and community blogs, explore career opportunities, and download publications that better explain Bruce Power’s important role in the clean air and economic initiatives in Ontario and beyond.
“Bruce Power operates an incredibly busy site, and the new and improved brucepower.com provides people with a better look at how we produce 30 per cent of Ontario’s electricity at 30 per cent below the average price of power, all while producing zero carbon emissions,” says James Scongack, vice-president, corporate affairs.
“I invite the community to visit our new website and learn more about all the great work we’re doing on our site.”
Bruce Power is also active on social media. Follow it on Facebook (www.facebook.com/BrucePowerNGS), Twitter @Bruce_Power, LinkedIn, Instagram (@BrucePowerNGS) and YouTube (www.youtube.com/user/brucepower4you).
UNIT 4 RETURNS TO SERVICE
Bruce Power’s Unit 4 was synchronized to Ontario’s electricity grid Friday after a planned maintenance outage.
The return of Unit 4 provides about 750 megawatts of low-cost, carbon-free electricity to the people of Ontario as the province enters the winter months. All eight of Bruce Power’s units are currently providing over 30 per cent of Ontario’s energy at 30 per cent less than the average price of power.
Before its planned maintenance outage, Unit 4 had operated continuously for over a year, proving that investing in refurbishment of nuclear units can provide a reliable source of clean energy for the long term.
“This investment in maintenance was made so Unit 4 can run safely and reliably through its next operational cycle,” says Paul Boucher, senior vice-president, Bruce A. “By investing strategically in our planned maintenance programs, we are setting the table for a strong performance this winter, while helping keep the air clean for Ontario families.”
