​“Bobby Orr Flying Goal” is next print in Kincardine Hospital Auxiliary fund-raiser

“Bobby Orr Flying Goal” is the next print in the South Bruce Grey Health Centre - Kincardine Hospital Auxiliary's Art/Easel Program fund-raiser.

This print, on display at Sobeys Kincardine, is a licensed NHL collectible featuring Orr’s famous goal, May 10, 1970. This is an iconic image of Bobby Orr “flying” to celebrate his goal, off a pass from teammate Derek Sanderson, which gave the Boston Bruins their first Stanley Cup win since 1941.

The second print, also on display at Sobeys, is entitled, “Ice House,” by Group of Seven artist Lawren Harris. It depicts a solitary ice house at Coldwell, on the shores of Lake Superior. At this time in his career, Harris’ paintings had become more simplified and austere in form and his colour palette was only muted greys, brown and blues.

The print at the Kincardine hospital is entitled, “Three White Cats” by Nova Scotian artist Maud Lewis.

The print at Rona Kincardine is entitled, “Johnny Cash Playing Guitar.”

The print at Boston Pizza in Kincardine is entitled, “Johnny Cash - Folsom Prison Tour.”

The starting bid for each print is $200, and they are on display until Tuesday, Feb. 6.
