Police, MTO enforcing weight restrictions on bridge in Walkerton

(WALKERTON, ON) - Bruce County has established new weight restrictions for the Durham Street Bridge over the Saugeen River in Walkerton. 

Alternate truck routes have been established for any vehicles that are heavier than the 15-, 25- and 30-tonne limit for single-, double-, and triple-axle vehicles.

Members of the South Bruce OPP and the Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) enforcement officers are teaming up to help raise awareness on this new bridge weight restriction.

Feb. 28, both the police and MTO will be monitoring traffic to ensure that road-users are aware of the change and complying with the weight restrictions.
