​Quipp girls donate to Tiverton Lions Splash Pad

Two Tiverton girls are so excited about the proposed splash pad in the village that they have raised money for the project, themselves.

Arya Quipp, 6, and her three-year-old sister, Emilia, presented a $555 donation to Jim McTeer of the Tiverton Lions Club, Sunday afternoon during Tiverton Winterfest.

The Tiverton Lions are spearheading the project, slated to be built beside the playground, west of the Tiverton Sports Centre.

The girls raised the money by doing extra chores, and at Christmas time, they played a game where extra money was put toward the splash pad.

Arya scored some goals in hockey and donated the money she received for them to the project.

The girls are looking forward to playing in the Splash Pad once it’s built.

The Municipality of Kincardine has sent out a Request for Proposals for the Tiverton Splash Pad with bids to be received by Feb. 27.

The budget for the project is $275,000, with a good portion of that already raised. The Tiverton Lions hope to have the splash pad built and operating by this year.
