South Bruce OPP report impaired drivers; and continue to investigate theft of tools

IMPAIRED DRIVER ARRESTED AT RIDE CHECKPOINT

(WALKERTON, ON) - Feb. 25, at 10:04 p.m., members of the South Bruce OPP were conducting a RIDE check along McNab Street in Walkerton when a vehicle was stopped. 

The driver was exhibiting signs of impairment, was placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Drug Recognition Expert for testing.

Devon HUSK, 25, of the Municipality of Kincardine was charged with Impaired Driving.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton, April 10, to answer to the charges.

An impaired driving charge includes an immediate 90-day driver's licence suspension and an immediate seven-day vehicle impoundment.

IMPAIRED DRIVER FACING DATE IN CRIMINAL COURT
 
(KINLOSS TWP, ON) - Feb. 24, at 10:45 p.m., a South Bruce OPP officer on patrol along Bruce County Road 1 in Kinloss Township, stopped a motor vehicle.

The driver was found to have been drinking alcohol, was placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Intoxilizer Technician for breath tests.

Steven WHITEHEAD, 25, of the Township of Huron Kinloss was charged with:
 

• Impaired Driving
• Operate over-80 milligrams

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton, April 10, to answer to the charges.

POLICE CONTINUING TO INVESTIGATE THEFT OF TOOLS

(CHESLEY, ON) - Feb. 20, at 10:54 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a theft at a property along Riverside Drive in Chesley.

Sometime between 5 p.m. Feb. 17, and 8 a.m. Feb. 20, a vehicle on the property was forcibly entered.

The list of stolen items includes:
 

• Milwaukee battery charging station
• Milwaukee batteries (6)
• Milwaukee multi-tool
• Milwaukee hole saw with case
• Milwaukee copper cutters (three)

The value of the stolen items is estimated to be $1,230.

Investigators are interested in viewing any video, or dash cam video, of the area between 5 p.m. Feb. 17, and 8 a.m. Feb. 20.
