​Community Foundation Grey Bruce invites applications for spring grants

Community Foundation Grey Bruce invites charities and non-profit organizations from across Grey and Bruce counties to submit grant applications for the spring community grants before April 15.

Eligible projects will benefit the community in one of the following categories: health and wellness, arts and culture, education and life-long learning, living standards and housing, the environment, and community connections; areas that have been identified to support healthy communities in the foundation’s Vital Signs® reports.

Local non-profits may request up to $3,000 to support their local projects. In 2023, 65 charitable organizations were granted more than $148,000 through community grants for projects, including youth and senior outreach, local festivals, and food security efforts.

Non-profit organizations that are considering applying for the spring community grants, are encouraged attend the foundation’s popular annual non-profit workshop. Planned for March 7 at Sydenham Campus, the workshop brings together local organizations for education and networking opportunities.

This year’s agenda will feature information on the foundation’s granting process, using artificial intelligence (AI) to support non-profit work, legislative changes and updates affecting non-profits, and a break-out session to support the challenges the sector is facing, including the volunteer crisis.

Organizations can access the on-line application form, and register for the workshop through the website, www.communityfoundationgreybruce.com. It is advised that applicants confirm the eligibility of their project before beginning the application process by contacting Jennifer Isber-Legge, grants and donor relations co-ordinator at the foundation office at 519-371-7203.
