​Bulldogs down 3-0, face elimination, in semi-finals against Mount Forest

The Kincardine Bulldogs have lost three games in a row in their semi-final series against Mount Forest, and face elimination unless they post a win in Game 4, Tuesday night, at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.

The series opened Wednesday (March 13) in Mount Forest, where the Patriots edged the ‘Dogs, 3-2.

Kincardine goal-scorers were Liam Colhoun and Carter Servais, with assists from Servais, Kieran Moore, and Jordan Moulton.

Kincardine goalie Carter Garvie made 27 saves on 30 shots.

Friday night at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine, the Bulldogs lost another close one by a score of 2-1.

Following a scoreless first period, the ‘Dogs opened the scoring in the second on a goal by Gavin Downs from Gavin Gibbons and Kyle Dolmage.

But Mount Forest tied it up before the end of the period, and then got the game-winner in the final frame.

Garvie made 36 saves on 38 shots.

Saturday night in Mount Forest, Kincardine lost the third game in a row, 5-2.

Again, the Bulldogs came out swinging, taking a 1-0 lead early in the first period, on a goal by Gibbons from Chad Lawrence and Downs.

Mount Forest tied it up by the end of the period, and then took a 2-1 lead in the second.

The Patriots were up by two in the third period, when Jordan Beisel scored from Colhoun to put the ‘Dogs within one. But the rest of the game belonged to Mount Forest as it fired in two more goals to take the 5-2 win.

Garvie made 31 saves on 35 shots.

It’s do-or-die time for the Bulldogs as they host Mount Forest for Game 4, Tuesday night, March 19, at 8:30 p.m.

If necessary, Game 5 runs Wednesday, March 20, in Mount Forest at 8 p.m.; Game 6 is Friday, March 22, in Kincardine at 8:30 p.m.; and Game 7 would be Saturday, March 23, in Mount Forest at 8:30 p.m.
