South Bruce OPP arrest impaired driver at RIDE checkpoint
(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) - March 17, at 4:26 p.m., the South Bruce OPP arrested an impaired driver at a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) checkpoint in the area of Concession 2 and Sideroad 25 in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.
Police stopped a vehicle to check the sobriety of the driver. The investigating officer administered a roadside approved screening device test, registering a fail. The driver was placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Breath Technician for breath tests.
Bryan ENGEL, 60, of the Municipality of Brockton was charged with Operation while impaired - blood-alcohol concentration (80-plus).
