Huron County OPP report impaired drivers

YOUNG DRIVER ARRESTED FOR IMPAIRED DRIVING

(HURON COUNTY, ON) - A young driver is facing charges after failing the Approved Screening Device (ASD) in Huron County.

March 23, at 4:48 p.m., the Huron County OPP was conducting a Reduced Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Summer Hill Road in Central Huron.

The officers spoke to the driver who was displaying signs of impairment. The driver provided a sample of breath into an ASD which registered a fail. The driver was arrested and transported to the Huron County OPP detachment for further tests by a Qualified Breath Technician.

Kalan Geddes, 19, of Huron County was charged with:
 

• Operation while impaired - blood-alcohol concentration (80-plus)
• Young driver – blood-alcohol level above zero
• Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich, April 22, to answer to the charges.

IMPAIRED DRIVER ARRESTED

(HURON COUNTY, ON) - A driver who failed to stop for a Stop sign is facing charges after failing the Approved Screening Device (ASD) in Huron County.

March 24, at 1:10 a.m., the Huron County OPP observed a motor vehicle fail to stop at the Stop sign on Duke Street in Huron East.

Officers spoke to the driver who was displaying signs of impairment. The driver provided a sample of breath into an ASD which registered a fail. The driver was arrested and transported to the Huron County OPP detachment for further tests by a Qualified Breath Technician.

David Miller, 31, of Huron County was charged with:
 

• Operation while impaired - blood-alcohol concentration (80-plus)
• Disobey Stop sign - fail to stop
• Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
• Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich on April 22, to answer to the charges.

POLICE NAB IMPAIRED DRIVER

(HURON COUNTY, ON) - March 24, at 8:28 p.m., the Huron County OPP was conducting traffic enforcement on Bluewater Highway. Police observed a vehicle swerving on the highway and conducted a traffic stop.

Officers spoke to the driver who was displaying signs of impairment. The driver provided a sample of breath into an ASD which registered a fail. The driver was arrested and transported to the Huron County OPP detachment for further tests by a Qualified Breath Technician.

Wyatt Atkins, 35, of Sarnia was charged with: Operation while impaired - blood-alcohol concentration (80-plus).

The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich on April 22, to answer to the charge.
