South Bruce OPP welcome new community safety/media relations officer
(SOUTHERN BRUCE COUNTY, ON) - After 33 years of service to the Province of Ontario, constable Kevin Martin is calling it a career.

He has served 23 years as a member of the OPP, nine years with Ontario Hydro, and one year as a correctional officer at the Stratford Jail. For the past 15 years, he served as the community safety and media relations officer for the South Bruce OPP detachment.

"I enjoyed working with the residents, businesses, schools, and community groups of southern Bruce County for the past 15 years,” says Martin. “I'm hopeful that you'll always keep your safety top of mind. I'd also like to welcome constable Matt Thorpe (above) as the new South Bruce OPP community safety/media relations officer.”

Martin’s final day with the detachment was Friday, April 5.

Thorpe has been with the South Bruce OPP since February, 2017. Prior to that, he worked with uniform recruitment at general headquarters in Orillia.

The South Bruce OPP congratulates Martin on his well-earned retirement, and wishes him well in his future endeavours.
