Powers Produce gives back to the community
John Powers and his Powers Produce fruit and vegetable stand have become a popular feature, Saturday mornings, beside the Bruce Bowling Lanes in Kincardine, during the summer.

On behalf of all his loyal customers over the years, and in appreciation for all the support at the market beside the bowling alley, Powers decided to give back to the community this year.

Thursday morning, he and his market helpers, Julia and Alex Hallam and Sean Creses, presented a $500 donation to the Kincardine Food Bank, and another $500 donation to Community Living of Kincardine and District.

The food bank donation will be used to purchase seasonal items leading up to Christmas, while the Community Living donation will be used for general programming.

Powers has closed up his market for the season but will be back beside the bowling alley June, 2016, and hopes to see everyone there.

Rick McDonald (L) and volunteer co-ordinator Beth French of Community Living of Kincardine and District, accept a $500 donation from John Powers and his helpers, Alex and Julia Hallam, and Sean Creses
