Happy Earth Week everyone! The theme for Earth Day, Monday, and all week, is “Planet versus Plastics.” We can all do our part to reduce the plastic we use!

Mary Beth Kerr and Cheryl Bridge had a great time in Owen Sound, Thursday; and recently, Diana Ellis of Goderich and Wendy Hooisma of Hanover enjoyed treating Cheryl to lunch and visiting at Goderich to celebrate Cheryl's birthday. What a great day.

Carman and Cheryl Bridge enjoyed having the grandsons to the farm for a weekend visit.

The Ripley and District Horticultural Society meeting, Wednesday, had Jennifer Osborn of Ayton as guest speaker. She has created a company, EcoWool, to help use wool to feed the soil and for landscaping materials rather than go to landfill or be burned. Everyone was impressed with the information she shared with us. The Junior Horticultural Club, “For Our Youth,” is growing with almost 20 members; the club had another meeting last Saturday in Kincardine.

4-H Clubs have begun but if you still want to join a club, check out the Bruce County 4-H Facebook page for what is going on! We really appreciate the leaders who dedicate their time and talent to supporting and teaching our future leaders!

Stefani Simpson and Sheena Houghton enjoyed a visit with their dad, Doug MacDonald, and family recently.

Jim and Fran Farrell visited with Jamie and Crystal, Danica, Clara and Lane Farrell, Saturday evening, for supper and to see how the chick-hatching operation was going. So far, they have five baby chicks from their own flock!
