RE: "Alice Middelkamp dies at the age of 96"
 

I am a daughter of Jan Bosch and Jantje Schoenmaker. Jan was Aunt Aaltje (Alice Middelkamp)'s eldest brother. I will try to write something in English because I think there is no one left who still speaks or reads Dutch.
 

It is a long time ago and I was a little girl when my aunt and uncle went to Canada. I know that I "on my own bike" went to Odoorn with my parents, where they then lived. That was very far for my little legs. We played on the Moor and ate outside.
 

For my dad, I sometimes may write a letter to Canada if he wanted to write. I, myself, still have a few letters from aunt. The last time she was in Holland, she was at my mother's place, and I saw her there. She said to me, "Och kind wat een zorgen," a saying I will never forget.
 

So, these are my memories of Aunt Aaltje that I wanted to share with you.
