​Almost 2,000 people take in Kincardine Home and Garden Expo

Almost 2,000 people attended the Kincardine Home and Garden Expo held April 27-28, at the Davidson Centre.

Hosted by the Kincardine and District Chamber of Commerce, the event showcased about 60 exhibitors on the arena floor, including everything from blinds, appliances and furniture, to decks, irrigation, siding and landscaping.

Another 35 exhibitors were set up at a marketplace in the gymnasium, featuring arts and crafts, treats and spices, and a number of community groups and organizations.

The opening ceremonies saw the Huron Heights Public School spring choir, under the direction of Kristen Ryan, sing “O Canada,” followed by a welcome from Jaye Boyer of the chamber of commerce, and greetings from Kincardine mayor Kenneth Craig.

“Thank you all for being here,” said Craig. “It’s spring time, when the hearts of young men and women turn to home renovation! A time of black thumbs and questions about what colour the walls in the bathroom should be.

“There are a lot of great vendors here. The Municipality of Kincardine is proud to work with the chamber of commerce to put this on. Happy Home Renovation 2024!”

The show also featured demonstrations and entertainment, including a robot demonstration by the Kinetic Knights Robotics Team, face-painting by Snippity the Clown, line-dancing, a fashion show, free swim, magic show and landscaping demonstration.
