Bruce County Library hosting grand-writing workshops for organizations

The Bruce County Public Library is hosting grand-writing workshops for organizations, Wednesday, June 5, at the Port Elgin and Wiarton Branches.

These workshops are offered as part of Bruce County’s Cultural Action Plan and are intended to help non-profit organizations overcome the challenges they may encounter when accessing grants and funding.

Renowned author, grant-writer and educator Lindsay Zier-Vogel will be facilitating the workshops. With more than two decades of experience and a track record of raising more than $4-million for clients in 2023, alone, she is one of Canada’s most esteemed grant writers.

These workshops, spanning two hours each, will guide participants through every aspect of the grant-writing process and are best suited to the needs of small to medium-sized non-profit organizations. From identifying suitable grants, preparing materials, and crafting budgets, attendees will gain valuable insight and practical skills to enhance their grant applications.

Another asset to help community organizations obtain grants is free access to Imagine Canada’s Grant Connect database, which is available on all library branch computers. This database serves as a premier fund-raising platform that offers individuals and organizations access to a wealth of funding opportunities.

“We are thrilled to offer this invaluable resource to our community,” says library director Brooke McLean. “Grant-writing, especially for smaller organizations with limited resources, can be an overwhelming task. By providing access to expert guidance and such tools as Grant Connect, we aim to support and empower local initiatives and foster growth in our communities.”
