Kincardine Atom Kinucks continue their winning ways

Yet another good news story for the Kincardine Canadian Tire Atom Kinucks this weekend.

Friday night, the Kinucks faced off against Seaforth at the Davidson Centre. Early in the first period, Tyler Johns opened the scoring on a great set up by Quinton Page and Myles Courtney. In the same shift, Quinton Page made a nice pass from the back of the net to the tape of Tyler Johns' stick to give the Kinucks a 2-0 lead.

In the second period, Quinton Page broke in from the red line and scored an unassisted marker. Less than a minute later, Brandon Bishop took a pass from Jared Houghton to make it 4-0. The Kinucks ran into a string of penalties in the third period, and could not seem to get moving on offence. The defence held strong and earned the shut-out for Kwade Beisel, as the Kinucks won, 4-0.

Saturday night, the Kinucks took on the Listowel Cyclones at the Davidson Centre. Just 13 seconds into the game, Quinton Page scored a beauty, with assists going to Nathan Arnold and Aidan Renaud. Late in the first, Myles Courtney took a pass in front of the net from Quinton Page and made no mistake in putting it away to give the Kinucks a 2-0 lead.

In the second period, Listowel managed to sneak one past Kincardine goalie Rowen Cherrett and bring the Cyclones to within one. Quinton Page broke out midway through the third and lifted a fantastic back-hander over the Cyclones goalie for the 3-1 win. Excellent defensive play and some great saves from Rowen Cherrett made the difference for the Kinucks.

Sunday afternoon, the Kinucks travelled to Goderich to take on the Sailors. As in past matches, the Kinucks dominated and shut out the home team, 8-0, for the third win of the weekend. Goals came from Aidan Renaud, Quinton Page (2), Nolan Janes, Myles Courtney (2), Nathan Arnold, and Jared Houghton. Assists came from Jared Houghton (4), Brandon Bishop (3), Nolan Janes, Graeden Colhoun, Nathan Arnold, Casey Beisel (3), Tyler Johns. Gavin Beaty.

All weekend, the team worked hard, there were some solid plays, some great support, excellent passes and super goals. All of the kids on this team try their hardest each and every game. Keep up the great work, Kinucks, and good luck in Silver Stick action next week.
