​Crowd scoops up treasures at annual Tiverton Lions Garage Sale

A great crowd turned out for the annual Tiverton Lions Community Garage Sale, scooping up treasures and bargains galore, at the Annex building in Tiverton, May 10-11.

The event began on the Friday night with a barbecue, as Lions Jim McTeer and Bob Simpson were kept busy, flipping burgers and cooking hot dogs, while other Lions members and helpers served the food.

As 6 p.m. rolled around, a huge line-up formed and the crowd hit the ground running as soon as the doors opened. People grabbed carts and filled them with all sorts of items, from toys and books, to jewellery, furniture and household goods.

The sale continued Saturday morning and ran until 12:30 p.m.

All funds raised by the Tiverton Lions Club go toward community projects.

The Tiverton Lions are hosting their annual Walk for Dog Guides, Sunday, May 26, with registration at 10 a.m. at the Tiverton Lions Hall, and the walk beginning at 11 a.m.
