Kincardine band narrowly misses out on grand prize in Tall Pines contest
Kincardine-area band, “21 and 9,” recently travelled to Bracebridge to compete in the finals of the “Ticket to Tall Pines” competition. The Tall Pines Festival runs in Muskoka, July 19-20.
From more than 170 bands competing over the course of a month, the Kincardine rockers, consisting of Johnny Culbert, Rob Edwards, Zach Brajuha, and Dane Dunlop, advanced to the final nine who competed over three nights at the Bracebridge Hall.
The band narrowly missed out on the grand-prize victory, conceding via judge’s vote, to Kitchener’s “Feral Minks.”
The performance, Saturday (May 25), was action-packed with a standing-room-only crowd, while “21 and 9” blistered through six of its original tunes.
Next up for the band is a private show in Kincardine, and yet another competition, for the Sauble Beach Party. The band has made the final 10 for this competition as well. Stay tuned for more details on how to vote!
