South Bruce OPP report mischief; threats uttered; stunt-driver; and domestic violence

POLICE INVESTIGATING MISCHIEF TO ATV TRAIL

(KINCARDINE, ON) - June 3, the South Bruce OPP received the report of mischief to property on the Bruce County Rail Trail in Kincardine Township.

The trail system is maintained by volunteers from the Huron Shores ATV Club.

Sometime over the past several weeks, suspect(s) entered the rail trail system off Bruce County Road 33, in the Municipality of Kincardine and caused damage by cutting trees, taking signage, and cutting a gate.

The cost of repairs is estimated at more than $4,000.

Damaging property is considered Mischief under the Criminal Code of Canada. Mischief carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in jail, upon conviction.

INVESTIGATION LEADS TO THREAT CHARGES

(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) - June 1, the South Bruce OPP responded to an address in Arran-Elderslie and initiated an investigation into a threats complaint.

As a result of the investigation, a 50-year-old Arran-Elderslie resident was charged with uttering threats.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton at a later date.

The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victims.

STUNT-DRIVING CHARGE LAID

(KINCARDINE TWP, ON) - June 1, at 7:55 a.m., a South Bruce OPP officer on patrol along Highway 21 in the Municipality of Kincardine, noticed a vehicle moving at a high rate of speed. The vehicle's speed was displayed on radar at 150 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. 

A 42-year-old resident of Kincardine was charged with Stunt-Driving.

This charge includes an immediate 30-day driver's licence suspension and an immediate 14-day vehicle impoundment.

INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE INVESTIGATION LEADS TO CHARGES

(SOUTH BRUCE, ON) - June 3, the South Bruce OPP responded to an address in the Municipality of South Bruce and initiated an intimate partner violence investigation.

As a result of the investigation, a 35-year-old Township of Perth East resident was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
 

• Spousal Assault
• Mischief - Damage or Destroy Property

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton at a later date.

The OPP will not release names to protect the identity of the victims.
